Arizona FFA's Greenhand Conferences

Giving a jump start to our organization's youngest members is a wonderful way to ensure the future of FFA programs in Arizona.and what better way to do this than an interactive conference designed specifically for Greenhand members?

Held three times every year in September, the Greenhand Conference provides a mix of FFA knowledge, leadership training, and fun to first year FFA members.  In order to accommodate the varied geographical locations of FFA chapter across the state of Arizona, each of the three sessions is held in a different location but teaches the same information.  At each conference, Greenhand members are encouraged to embrace a feeling of comradery and step outside their comfort zone so they can best learn how the FFA Organization is able to help them reach their goals.

This one-day event is presented by past FFA members and State Officers trained specifically for teaching the conference's FFA curriculum in an active, hands-on manner that engages young members and encourages them to realize the potential they have for success in the FFA Organization.  This goal of personal achievement is attained by splitting the Greenhand attendees into breakout groups where they are able to mingle with members from around the state, learn the basics of the FFA, and compete in relay races that encourage teamwork and provide talking points for how each member can use what they have learned to better their chapter.

After a full day of learning, Greenhand members come away from the conference with a greater understanding of the FFA Organization and the vital role they play in making their chapter successful.

Please contact your local FFA advisor for more information!  This year's conferences will be held September 10-12, 2008
