Arizona FFA's Chapter Officer Leadership Training

The Chapter Officer Leadership Training (or "COLT") program is designed to help newly elected chapter officers from around the state develop a solid foundation of leadership knowledge for their year of service and ensure that they have the proper resources needed to be successful. Chapter Officer Leadership Training is a two day event open to all FFA chapters across the state of Arizona. The conference is designed in a three part series every school year which focuses on maximizing the skill level of a chapter officer team. Each school may bring their entire chapter officer team for this overnight leaning extravaganza.
The first of the Chapter Officer Leadership Training sessions is in May, the second in August, and the last in December with each part of the series building off of the previous one to help the chapter officer team develop skills they will need to effectively run their home chapter.
At all three sessions of the Chapter Officer Leadership Training program the Arizona FFA State Officer team teaches a variety of workshops ranging from leadership to responsibility and how to write a Program of Activities to planning chapter meetings. With each of the workshops and presentations given, the chapter officer attendees receive not only a working knowledge of how to handle their duties as an officer, but also a collection of handouts, idea sheets, and references to be used throughout the school year. All of these resources and more are able to be conveniently organized in the notebooks given to every participant when they arrive at their first conference.
The Chapter Officer Leadership Training program also provides an opportunity for the newly elected officers to expand their leadership knowledge through idea sharing with other members from across the state enabling them to bring back new ideas for chapter activities, fund raisers, community service projects, and more.
